Every week, a large company adds new suppliers. Before anyone is paid, someone has to check each supplier pack: the onboarding form, the tax form, the insurance certificate, the bank letter and the signed code of conduct. Then a person has to approve it, and an auditor will later ask who did, when and why. Here, Porter & Gale, the company we use to show ALK at work, checks this week’s 8 new supplier packs across its four business units.
Step 1 of 8
Every decision, on the record

Every step of the run is kept: 8 packs read, each one checked against the onboarding policy, then either signed off and activated or sent back for documents.
Step 2 of 8
8 suppliers, 8 decisions

4 suppliers were signed off and activated. 4 were sent back for a missing or mismatched document: an expired insurance certificate, a bank letter in another company’s name, a tax form with a different legal name and an unsigned code of conduct.
Step 3 of 8
Every flag explains itself

Brightwater Chemical Supply sent every document, and its tax and bank details match. But its liability insurance expired on Aug 31, so the certificate has to be replaced before activation. ALK says so in plain words.
Step 4 of 8
See the page it came from

One click opens the certificate itself, page 3, with the policy expiration date highlighted: 2026-08-31. Anyone on the team can confirm it in seconds.
Step 5 of 8
The decision: a named sign-off

Elmstead Pallet Works passed every check, and it still doesn’t go live on its own. It waits for a person to approve it, and the reviewer writes a note on why.
Step 6 of 8
Who, when and why, kept

The approval, the time and the reviewer’s note stay with the file, and Elmstead moves to Activated. When an auditor asks, the answer is already there.
Step 7 of 8
The bigger picture

Across the four business units, Home Care activated 2 of its 3 new suppliers. Health & Wellness had one new supplier, and it was sent back.
Step 8 of 8
ALK watches

One instruction keeps an eye on what matters next: warn me when any supplier’s insurance certificate expires within 30 days.
What ALK checks in each supplier pack
- Which of the five required documents arrived, and which are missing
- The legal name on the onboarding form against the tax form and the bank letter
- The insurance certificate’s expiration date against the review date
- Whether the code of conduct is signed
- Where each supplier goes next: ready for sign-off or request documents, and who approved it
Try it on your own supplier packs
Send one real supplier pack, or a redacted one, and see what ALK finds.
